Brad
Rutter became the biggest TV game show winner in history
when he won Jeopardy!'s™ Ultimate Tournament of Champions
in May 2005! Brad's overall winnings now total $3,255,102,
the new number to beat! Brad Rutter has quickly
become a quiz show phenomenon. In the Fall of 2005, Rutter
will launch the second season of his show InQuizitive™, the
quirky quiz show that tests your IQ. This innovative
half-hour show will air on WLYH-TV, UPN 15, covering the
Central Pennsylvania media market.
InQuizitive™ will test the trivia knowledge of Central Pennsylvania high school students, who will attempt to answer the tough questions as Brad throws at them.
“I suspect they will also have to deal with my humorous quips along the way,” adds Brad, who was once a high school quiz guru himself.
Rutter, who grew up watching and later competing in TV quiz programs, graduated from Manheim Township High School, Lancaster County, PA in 1995. He then attended Johns Hopkins University. “At various times I was an English and History major,” says Rutter, who always knew it was his destiny to host a game show of his own.
A self-described raconteur, single man-about-town, loyal friend, entrepreneur, Simpsons and Seinfeld encyclopedist, and rabid Eagles and Flyers fan, Brad Rutter is, above all, well grounded. He is business-focused, yet remarkably humble about his natural abilities and extraordinary accomplishments.
“Ever since I was a kid, I’ve loved trivia,” he explains. “When I realized you can write questions and moderate tournaments professionally, I thought, ‘Gee, I’d really love to do that.’ Of course my winnings have given me my own venture capital, and I decided to start my own show. I’ve always thought that academic athletes don’t get nearly enough recognition. Hopefully my show will get them some exposure while allowing them to show off a bit.”
